The 25th of March marks the 60th anniversary of the signature of the Treaties of Rome, which laid the foundations for the European Union we know today. On the occasion of this celebration, The ElCano Royal Institute wants to join the public debate on the current state of the process of European integration by organizing a talk between the former Spanish president Felipe González and Emilio Lamo de Espinosa, chairman of The ElCano Royal Institute, who has recently received the Spanish National Prize for Sociology and Political Science.
Entitled ‘The EU’s challenges, 60 years later’, the debate will be held on 28th March from 12.00 to 14.00 pm at Botín Foundation in Madrid and will address threats such as Brexit, the rise of euroscepticism and populism, loss of competitiveness and the European values, amongst other issues.
The conversation will be seen live here.
