Directed at prominent and emerging media makers, this full day event facilitated conversation about diversity and innovation in the media, promoting the media’s efforts to diversify their staff and content. The chairman and co-founder of CAF, Wadah Khanfar, was one of the speakers, presenting on creativity and journalism at 15.30 p.m on that Thursday the 7th. Wadah Khanfar also shared his experience as a former director general of Al Jazeera and how with the help of innovation turned Al Jazeera from a single channel into a global media network.
Hosted by the broadcaster Ikenna Azuike, the gathering also included Google’s Robert-Jan van Berckel, who spoke about how important diversity is from a financial viewpoint, and SB.TV’s Jamal Edwards, the 25-year old owner of a million dollar music platform because he decided to do-it-himself.
